Kanlu · Field records

Privacy policy

Updated October 21, 2026

Overview

Kanlu is a field-record and report app that stores your work on your device. No account is required. The app has no ads or cross-app tracking.

Data handled by the app

Projects, groups, reports, text, photos, videos, audio, tags, templates, exports and backup files are processed in the app’s device-local storage. The developer does not operate a server to collect this report content and does not receive it from the app.

Permissions and speech recognition

The app requests camera, photo access, microphone or speech recognition permission when you use the relevant feature. App lock uses Face ID or your device passcode through system authentication; the app does not read or store biometric data. Denying a permission does not prevent viewing or editing existing reports. Speech recognition uses on-device processing where supported. When the device or selected language does not support it, iOS may use Apple’s speech recognition service. The developer does not receive your recordings or transcripts.

Storage, backups and sharing

Reports and evidence are stored on your device. Exports and backups are generated locally first. A file is sent to another app, recipient or storage location only when you choose a destination in the system share sheet. iCloud automatic sync is off by default. When you explicitly enable it in Settings, projects, groups, reports, templates, original media and recently deleted items sync through Apple CloudKit to devices using the same Apple account and use your iCloud storage. Turning sync off keeps local data and does not erase cloud copies. The developer does not receive this synced content.

Third-party services

Kanlu has no advertising, third-party analytics, third-party login or developer-operated cloud storage service. Apple processes purchases and restores. Apple’s speech recognition service may process speech when required by the system. The destination you choose for sharing or saving a backup has its own data practices.

Recipients of shared files

Kanlu does not send your reports to recipients on its own. Before sharing a file, choose a recipient you trust and review its privacy policy. Once shared, the file’s storage, use and deletion are controlled by the destination you choose.

In-app purchases

Kanlu 2.0 offers automatically renewing monthly and yearly Pro subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. All plans include the same features, and existing lifetime purchases remain valid. Cancel subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings; access continues until the paid period ends. Lifetime access does not renew. Apple handles payment, restore and refund processes. The app reads verified purchase eligibility; the developer does not receive your payment card number or full payment details.

Retention and deletion

Deleted reports, inspection points, components and field records, including their original media, move to Recently deleted until you restore or permanently delete them. Permanent deletion cannot be undone and, when sync is enabled, deletions sync to other devices. Deleting templates or removing the app can remove the corresponding local content. Exported and backup files saved elsewhere are separate copies. Deleting a report in Kanlu does not delete those copies; remove them from the locations where you saved or shared them.

Version coverage

This policy covers both existing releases and Kanlu 2.0. Features such as automatic iCloud sync and monthly or yearly subscriptions apply only when the corresponding app version and products are available. Refer to your installed version and local App Store listing.
